Incredible Hulk #11
Not Really Recommended…
This has been one of the most difficult review decisions I have made to date. I really loved this series, up until the “Stay Angry” story arc. There is just something about this story arc that doesn’t make sense. I usually love Aaron’s writing and story telling - but not for this arc. If it isn’t strange sexual innuendos, it is really weak execution on what could have been one of the best “Hulk” concepts I have seen in a long time.
This series has obviously been trending down, with small redeeming characteristics. This book, in particular just didn’t have enough redeeming characteristics. Here are some of my thoughts on where it was lacking:
I don’t want to keep bashing this series - or this specific book for that matter - I want to enjoy the Incredible Hulk. I want to enjoy what this arc actually means.
Maybe a redemption for this series would be the flip-side of the story. Maybe the conclusion of this arc will be “what Banner saw”… that would at least redeem the story, regardless of how the art looks.
If you are collecting, or want to keep up with the strange antics of Banner in this arc, pick it up. Otherwise, wait until this arc is over and/or improves…
